Bad Year for Indonesia?

March 7th, 2007 ongster No comments

Our world news has recently been filled with a string of unfortunate events coming from Indonesia. The ferry boat sinkings (2), plane crashes (2), earthquakes (3?), flashfloods. Reminds me of Philippines 1991 when we had blackouts, volcano eruptions, earthquakes.

Urban Planning

September 22nd, 2006 ongster 2 comments

Came across a site which might give our government officials inspiration and help on how to plan our cities. We Metro Manilians have been suffering because of poor urban planning which makes for traffic congestion, wasted time traveling to and fro places. Our urban sprawl is a massive waste of space and highly inefficient use of land when we can have tall buildings instead of bungalows as living spaces inside our major city. Somehow I think the way our cities are planned (or unplanned) reflects the way our city officials think, the “bahala na (whatever)” way.
Cyburbia (http://www.cyburbia.org/)  is a  site  for urban planners around the world to congregate and share ideas. I hope our planners will take inspiration from this and make better plans for the sake of our megacity’s future.

City Lifestyle Spa and Fitness Center

June 26th, 2006 ongster 2 comments

City Lifestyle Spa and Fitness Center is Gay!

From the moment I stepped on their wet area, something didn’t feel right.

They had several hot water pools, sauna room, steam room, sit down showers, a shower room. Upon entering the wet area, several guys were lazing around the pools, with a strange way they were checking me out. My conclusion was reinforced when I was by meself inside the sauna. There was I, enjoying the therapy when some guy entered and sat right beside me, almost touching my knees! What the fuck!?! Why the hell do you have to sit right next to me when the room’s not full!

Another notable thing is all over the men’s locker room, a sign says “Wearing of swim trunks are allowed”. Why on earth would you need to post a sign saying it’s OK to wear swim trunks!?! My thought on this is that gay people preferred to walk inside naked, and the spa wants to prevent this.

My last hope was the massage, at least give us a decent massage. The massage was even so bad, the masseuse was the most inexperienced masseuse i’ve had.

Don’t go there if you don’t want to feel violated and stressed out.

On the other hand, do check out Holiday Spa for a good shiatsu or swedish massage. They’re one of the best that i’ve tried.
